But man, i don't think i can get a 335 back there... i ran a 335 with those Trakcar RA1 stash but it has a pretty narrow profile almost same as nitto nt01.

U mean the 335 won't fit the wide body RS?
The 335 is a new size this year and I cannot find any pricing online.

maybe on stock wheels w/o the factory 5mm spacer. my offsets are a bit more aggressive with the e88.

would have to test fit, it would be close. thing is, if you're going 335 you should be looking at a 255 front... and for me that will be a problem.

From what I read on past threads.. 305/35 18 is the size to get for nt01 on both gt3 and rs

The Hoosier R7 335/30 R18, which is a wider tire than the R6, fits the 997.2 RS without issue.

The NTO1 275/35/18 and 335/30/18 would be the combo I'd like to try. I'm currently running them in 245/40/18 and 305/35/18.

increased camber makes tire last longer.
when worn out, flip them.
i always looked cool in high school camber and knight rider lights.....
and slammed, with springs cut in 1/2

Came across this thread and thought I'd update. I've been running the NT01 275/35/18 and 335/30/18 combo for the last year and it is far far superior to the NT01 245/305 sizing I ran before. Price is basically a wash with a set coming in at just over $1K. Great bang for the buck as I normally get 12 sessions on these. I've burned though 6 sets of these and if you're not trying to set lap records, this is a great choice. Beware that the tires run wide with the rears at close to 14" across. I initially mounted them on a 9/12 and they were severely pinched. I ran a set on 9.5/12.5s and now run them on 10/13s where they fit nice and square. My car is a 996 but should work on 997 also.

I did a write up a while back on the 275/335 v. 245/305 NT01 comparison in the 996GT forum so here is a cut and paste of it. All the info is there.

The 335 is a rather tall tire at 26.0" with plenty of sidewall which makes it a good performer. Here is how they compare to the previous set up of 245/40/18 and 305/35/18. All listed measurements are actual side by side measurements, not listed measurements. Nitto, for example, lists the diameter of the 245 and 275 both at 25.5" when in reality the 275 is 4mm shorter. Measured tire width is overall width, not tread width.

Fronts: 245 vs. 275

245/40/18 25.55" tall, 10" wide, load 1433 lbs
275/35/18 25.4" tall, 11.5" wide, load 1521 lbs



Rears: 305 vs. 335

305/35/18 26.4" tall, 12.65" wide, load 1819 lbs
335/30/18 26.0" tall, 14.00" wide, load 1874 lbs



As you can see the width difference is substantial, 3" of extra rubber in the front and 2.7" more in the rear. The rear 335s are very wide at 14" overall width but most importantly they have a load rating of 1874 lbs. which is very important for our cars. NT01s in 315/30/18 are only rated at 1653 in comparison. This is why I never cared for the performance of the short 315/30s as they just don't have the support of the taller tires.

I my opinion, the minimum wheel width of 9.5/12 is mandatory with this set up. A 12.5 would be better. I trial mounted the tires on a 9/12 and the 275s were pinched too much for my taste so I would not recommend a 9.5" that. 335s were also pinched a bit but not too bad. I did run them on a 9.5/12.5 and that worked well. In the end, I ended up fitting them on 10/13 and they are perfectly square and it really sharpened up the response of the tires. Fitting as wide a wheel as you can is good but the really wide wheels are very tricky to fit correctly. Below is a pic of fitment on the 10/13s. Interestingly, the 275/335s seem to scrub in an and start feeling really good within one session. The 245/305s on the other would take about 3 sessions to reach their sweet spot. Can't explain that one. Lap time wise, the 275/335s are about 1.5 sec faster on a 2 minute lap. My car also feels a lot more settled as I was overpowering the 245/305s.

My JRZ strut tops are flipped 180º which pushes the upper strut towers in 14mms. This is what creates the room to run the 275s and has to be done. I am not running any shims in the my LCAs (I am using 997RSR LCAs which are 5mm shorter than the street versions). I'm running -3.4 camber front and -2.5 rear. Fenders are tightly rolled both front and rear. Hope that helps.

Thank you good info, any idea how fender room compares on your 996 vs a NB 997.1 GT3? My top hats are already rotated and I'm about -3.3F -3.0R so if the cars have similar fender room I should be able to make it fit.

The only thing is my car already rubs in the front at full lock with 245/645/18 Pirelli DH's. Any idea how much Caster you're running?
