New GT3 Owner with Pics
Howdy all, have been lurking on the GT3 forum for some time but just picked up a modded 2010 GT3. Have a couple of air cooled 911's currently, will get to those later.
Was a strange journey picking up the GT3, had planned on one being a 50th birthday present in 6 years. Bought a e46 M3 this time last year for a summer daily. Living in the city of Chicago found the M3 to not be a great urban vehicle. It really needs to wind out and hard to do that going stop light to stop light. Lent the car to my brother in law for 2 months this summer as his car was being fixed from a bad accident, just never bonded with the M3. Sold the car fairly quickly and have a 1 1/2 year old thought a e39 M5 would be a good family vehicle. After finding one and not coming close on a deal decided to move on. Looked at a Maserati GranTurismo, then thought why not look at 360 or 430. Neighbor invited me for some beers at the local watering hole and as I waited for him to show up was going through the dozen or so open windows on the iphone and that is when I ran across the GT3 had seen a few weeks earlier
It is a 2010 with 37,500 miles so it is no garage queen. Has a GT2 carbon seats, 4.0 engine build, GMG headers, BBI side bypass pipes, numeric racing shifter and pinned coolant lines. Car is seriously fast, the low down torque is amazing. It is a little loud but after lifting the side mufflers happy to not have more weight in back.
Also have a 964 track/street ride that I hope to never sell. It is a '91 C2 with the engine, transmission and steering rack from a RSA. Not extremely fast, just extremely fun.
Last is a '96 993 TT that is a hoot to drive. Pretty much all stock except for a LWFW.
Look forward to learning a lot more about the GT3 from everyone here. Happy New Year to all.

Congrats! Glad to see another Chicago pcar guy on the forum. Downtown living is tough as a car guy but WI and MI roads are not far away. Hope to see you out sometime. Cheers.
And so second the request for more info on the 4.0 build.

Perhaps you are quite experienced in storing a car for some months, and have a plan for your beauty. But if not, you might inquire here about thoughts on "winterizing" and storing your car for months, to ensure an uneventful spring start-up. Battery, oil, mice, condensation, seals, tires, that sort of thing.
you do have a really striking car.
all the best....

If there is any other feedback on the storing process I'm all ears.

Like your style, GT3, 964... perfect. And drivers at that, even better!
