got the GT3 back from the shop today and after cleaning it up took some pics of the GT3 and RS4 hanging out. 3.8L + 4.2L = 8.0L of fun!

Great combo! OT, but curious how the RS4 has help up with regards to maintenance costs? Would love that for the DD.

the GT3 definitely makes the RS4 feel heavy & soft (even with the Stasis/Ohlins coilovers), but still really like that car and the sound of the V8 motor.

yea, have a few scuffs on the front lip, but have a spare one at the ready.

when i got the car it had a bit under 19k miles on it. it's now at 63k.

i swapped out the suspension before ever having any issues with leaks with the DRC system. i think the Stasis/Ohlins SL option was a big improvement over the stock setup and got rid of the wheel gap too. Stasis closed up shop, so guessing KW or Bilstein PSS9 would be the choice now.

only things that i can think of that i've had to get fixed on the car were the water pump (that was at around 56k miles) and the washer fluid reservoir (these like to crack over time).

i do need to replace the window switches on the drivers side door, as those have started getting flakey. can get a replacement set off ebay for like $20 though, so not a big deal. one fog light recently went out too. need to see if that's an easy fix or not. and i feel like sooner or later i'll want to replace the clutch since there are times when i feel like it's not holding as well as it used to.

so overall, i've had no major issues and have to say maintenance has just been of the routine variety. the RS4 is probably better in this regard than the B5 S4 since you don't have the turbos and piping issues to contend with, though my unmodded S4 never really gave me any trouble and i put ~120k miles on that before selling it.

ur20v -- yea, Stasis closed and it sounded like it was a bit of a soap opera at the end. i was in the process of troubleshooting a potential issue with one of the shocks when that was happening, but luckily turned out that things just needed to be tightened up. lesson learned: don't have dealership install coilovers.

ngng -- i may indeed happen to live in Santa Clara.

Nice. I also have an RS4 with my Gt3's and love it. Mine unfortunately only adds up to 7.8 liters.

My old rs4 (red w black and carbon) served me quite well. Tried to do a track day in it but the traction control/ stability management never let me hoon it to max levels.

RS4 was a great DD. i miss it a lot!
