Keeping exhaust valves open

Keeping exhaust valves open
I picked up a 997.1 GT3 RS last month with 31,000 miles. Sent it back east to the shop I have used for years for a good going through, new PCCBs & pads, guard diff, full suspension upgrades, coils, plugs, 4.0 clutch set up, some tuning work, etc., etc. Car dyno'ed out at 376.2 before work and 388.7 RWHP post work.
Car came with the sharkwerks center muffler delete. Prior owner plugged vacuum hoses for cutoffs to stay open all the time ( sounds great).
I know that the easier way to keep them open full time is just to unclip the connector. My shop says either way works, just unclipping is easier. No fault lights either way.
My Question: Besides making it more difficult to go back to stock configuration, is there any down side to just leaving the hoses plugged ? Car is finished and about to ship back out to me. If I need to make a change I need to have it done today, if not I am leaving it as is.
Thanks !
Jimmy

Congrats on attaining a mint .1RS. Based on dyno, motor is still strong w/31K miles. Prior owner of my .1RS simply plugged hose with snug fitting screw. Easily removed and valves are fully functional.
On another note, I have a perfect set of Champion RS98's, powder coated gloss black (19x12 and 19x9) with RE11 ready to bolt up if interested?

sick 7.1RS - jealous.
agree - the unplugging is easier b/c it's easier to at a whim plug it back in to make it quiet. - either method is fine.
d-uber cars - i'd be interested to see how the RS98s look gloss black on or off car. I have a set of the RS98s and I've been toying with either coating my OEM wheels black or the RS98s.

Thanks for the info.
The wheels you have are great and I would love to have them. However, with the purchase of the car and the bill I just paid, my car fund is depleted right now.
Thanks Again,
Jimmy

yes. at idle at a stand still they open with button pressed. then you go and they close again unless you romp on it or above 4k or so. with sport button and it plugged in the exhaust goes on off on off.

I Also noticed that with stock tips it was harder to tell the difference. It was only really louder above 4k or when k romped on it and in sport mode.
With the thin wall sharkwerks tips the difference between reg and sport mode is more pronounced.

yes im sure. why do you think all of us on here talk about unplugging the vaccuum if the sport button was a true on off switch?
Are you sure? I swap (by pressing the button) all the time. Partial throttle. Cruise etc and I can always tell a difference.

just got my car back from getting some work done today and right away noticed that it sounded quieter. popped open the engine lid when i got home and sure enough the plug had been reconnected. unplugged it and got the sound back.
i'm running a Sharkwerks center bypass and i can't really hear a difference going between Sport mode and regular, but i can definitely tell the difference between plugged and unplugged.
