Pirelli DH Slicks .1 NB GT3 Rear Size?
#31
I agree. Timeout is very real. I broke a rear hub last year from simple fatigue. It had just over 100 hard track hours on it running NT01s. I was lucky, it could have been ugly. I have since swapped all suspension components to beefier PMNA Cup and RSR. Another guy in my area lost the outer ball joint on one of the rear stock LCAs. That caused a lot of damage to the body of the car. If you are an agressive driver, pick a replacement interval you're comfortable with and stick with it.

No issues I assume? I'm not familiar with Cup spec alignment settings. I'm only running -2.7 front camber and -2.2 rear, probably not enough camber but will try.

Like others I used 245/645/18 for the front and 305/680 on he back. I went through a few sets of used DH slicks then went back to new NTs... Big difference, the NTs (although new) felt heavy and slippery not to mention a few secs slower then the slicks. For the price off used slick ($600/set) it's worth taking a hit- what could go wrong!

My first set of used Pirelli slicks showed up on the front step yesterday. I've run Hoosiers and NT01's in the past. I'm not trying to be ultra cheap, but it looks like a new set ends up being around $2,400 all said and done. I do about 20 DE events a year. If got lucky enough to get 4 days out of a set, that's about $12,000 year in rubber. If I go that route, I'm going to need to start a thread on recommendations for a good divorce attorney.
These were sold as having anywhere from 1-5 heat cycles. There are probably other contributing variables like driving stye, track, etc., but could I expect to get 2 good days out of these?

I'm just trying to be like you, Enrique!
I'm good with 2.5 days.
I have to be in AZ next week but will be at THill March 11th and April 1st/2nd.
Hope you and Kas can make it up one of those days.

Roughly 4 days. I picked up some OPR on the rears and used a heat gun/paint scraper to take it off and I'm sure I took a little clean rubber off underneath in the process so that may have taken some life out in exchange for exposing fresh sticky rubber underneath for a few sessions.
The fronts are 5 days old and still working fine. I'd say it's using rears to fronts at a 2:1 ratio.
