Default FS: 3.8 GT3 Engine/Trans - 8k Miles

SOLD!!!

Well, so much for that project! I bought this with the intention of putting it into a 964. A poor-man's Singer with a monster motor. Looks like it is not going to be financially feasible for me to go through with this. My loss = your gain

Motor and trans are out of a 2010 GT3 that was in a front-end collision. Had about 8k miles on it. Originally came from Todd at LA Auto Dismantlers and I was given a 1 year warranty in writing and a personal guarantee that everything runs perfectly. Engine/trans are currently close to Chicago at Perfect Power in Buffalo Grove if you want to stop by and check it out. Unfortunately, I'm not the most technically inclined person out there but I will try my best to answer any questions.

I bought the whole package for $35k. It can be yours for $28k. I bought this a few months ago and honestly, I know that is a steal but I need this gone fast.

sorry to hear your project plan isn't going to sort out.

Yes, it would have been the ultimate 911 expression. Best motor in the best chassis in my opinion. Unfortunately they still haven't figured out a way to make money grow on trees.

were you going to have to custom fabricate way more parts than you initially expected? seems like getting all the electronics sorted could be a challenge too.

i hear money is all switching to plastic now. trees are out!

Exactly. Lots of fab work to fit the trans in the 964 transmission tunnel. Considered going with a G50 but even that wasn't a guaranteed fit. Wiring and electronics were also an issue considering the VarioCAM timing of the motor. Considered getting a cup motor instead since the electronics would be simpler but the cup motor isn't very street friendly. I know this is possible and has been done before in some variation but I couldn't go broke trying to get this vision to materialize.

Sorry to hear about your troubles... will the following contact help? If one can fit a 6TT engine in a '69 Series C chassis, yours is probably doable...

https://rennlist.com/forums/964-turb...-a-964t-2.html

GLWS if you decide to go down that path... it's great value--gearbox alone is easily $15k.

Thanks, that's interesting! I know this is possible, but it's not easy. Many shops aren't even willing to take on the project and if they are, it requires an open checkbook.

I bet you Mike Callas down here in Sealy, TX could make something happen.

Sorry, I'm not familiar with Bergman. Any contact info, where is this shop located? I have honestly moved on mentally from this project, but wouldn't hurt to find out more.
