Upsized tires for NB 997 GT3
Stock is 235-35-19 front, 305-30-19 rear.
I understand that 245-35-19 front and 325-30-19 rear is an option... car will sit a touch taller, rear will rotate a touch slower than fronts vs stock...
There is a forum member selling a set of 325 rears from a TT fitment... so makes me wonder about this...would love to get a little more meat on the tarmac under the butt of the car... I also notice on the stock 12 in wide rears Michelins and Nittos rear tires get stretched some when mounted...
Question for forum members -- on stock 19 in wheels for the narrow body 997 GT3 (non RS) do these wider tire sizes create issues with rubbing or TPMS? (FYI I am running 2 degrees neg camber front and rear)...
Thanks in advance.

I have 245 up front w 305 rear. Great balance. Much better then 235. The 325 will really unbalance for my style of driving. Could work out for you.
P.s no rubbing w 245 up front.

I have 255 up front with 305 on the rear and it's perfect for me. Going wider in the rear will just create more understeer than you want on track. I went from stock sizes to 20mm wider up front and i like it. i run stiff rear and soft front on the bars too. no rubbing on 19s

doesn't trip tpms?

I was wondering the same as I need a new set of rears. Currently have Michelin PS2's in 305 and I know what you mean about them being stretched on the rim, especially on my 19x12' Work Wheels. I am considering going to 325/30/19 as a local P mechanic recommended. See the specs below taken from the Michelin site for the PSS. The 305's are rated to fit on 10.5-11.5" rim. The 325's will fit on a 11-12" rim, however, as you said and the others above have responded, there will be increased understeer and no added benefit for mostly street use. They will be heavier and cost more...
I think you'll be fine with the wider fronts as I run 265/35/18 Toyo R888 on track wheels with no problems.
The consensus so far seems to be to keep the 305 stock size in the rear, but has anyone had any direct or positive experience with a 325?

i want to say it's a 30 as the diameter is actually a tad smaller than the stock 235 section. I think you mean trip abs? tpms is just tire pressure so that wouldn't matter. short answer is no. i'm running yoko AD08R. The stretched rear tire actually does give a slightly larger contact patch than if it wasn't stretched, say if it was on an 11" wheel.

I was also thinking of running AD08r's in that size, but was worried the tires would be too wide for my stock size wheels.

hmm, is your car a 997.1? i saw a white one with aftermarket rims on el camino in Mt View area on sunday afternoon. it was a few cars ahead of me in traffic and turned off into a parking so didn't get a full view of it.

yes 997.1. My car has been parked in redwood city in storage for a solid 2 weeks now. I do frequent mtn view here and there but not recently, so likely it's not me.

I have run 245.35.19 and 325.30.19 Cup 2's on my NB with good success. No rubbing at all up front but slight rubbing on the inner tire edge under full suspension compression in the rear. I did roll the fender lips slightly in the rear as I was concerned about rubbing on the outside edge of the tires.
I also run 235 and 315 R6's with no problem, with the 235 actually measuring as 245's.
My car is 100% track with about 3 deg negative camber front and rear.

thanks very helpful
i suspected 325s on rear would rub under compression loading. the 305's on stock wheels have tire sidewalls stretched.. if the sidewalls went straight up as they should with the offset of the rear wheels it already looks like they would come close to rubbing the fender inner lip... so add another 20 mm of rubber and straight sidewalls and rubrubrub

just gotta dial in that camber a bit and...perfect fit!
joking aside, have you played around with sway bars or anything to see if that gets you the handling characteristics you're looking for?
or is this more about just wanting a wider tire and living with what that does to the handling?
