I went to 245 up front, OEM size out back.
Running ADO8R and been really happy with them, great dual purpose tire, would not hesitate to get them again.

Where can I buy a pair of Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires in OEM size (305/30ZR19) for 997.1 GT3?

About 5 people on this thread have recommended them. I cannot find anyone who can get them for me.

Tire Rack said they have been on back order for months and they don't expect a delivery until October.

I prefer MPSS and am now down to the steel belts on my second set.

Is there anything similar in price and capabilities for non-track use?

If you aren't going to track the car, you have plenty of options. Bridgestone RE11's, Continental DWs, etc. Any of the good summer tires will be fine.

You me and about 200 other guys with 997 GT3 are waiting for the 305 rear MPSS. We will not get them soon.

I bought a set of Toyo Proxes 1's... they are very very nice. Not quite as firm as MPSS but grippy/quick turn in and good ride. Bridgestone S04's are sloppier, B-Stone RE-11's are overkill for the road and loud/hard. Conti's are softer and squirmier than MPSS and wear out fast.

Just ordered a full set of MPSS from the TR website.
Got their call the next day that they do not have any details on the rears' arrival, ETA is 90 days but only because Micheln won't tell them anything.

Perhaps I should order a second set of rears since they're tough to find and seem to wear about 2:1 ....

Try Rob from 4 Corner Tire Shop. He was able to get MPSS or MPSC2's when I spoke to him a month ago. Not sure that has changed.

For the 997 GT3 I currently have Sport Cup, Sport Cup 2, and Pilot Sport PS2 in stock. As others have said, Michelin is not very forthcoming about when the rear Super Sports will be available again. Their '90 day ETA' is the stock answer they give when they have no information.

Bridgestone RE50A is another good option for street car use and we stock these as well.

For RL'ers I'll beat any TR quote, so let me know if I can help.

I replaced the rears on my 7.2 GT3 with MPSS a week ago .. the tyres came from Germany and were week 30, 2015 production.

may be too expensive for you US folks, but for those who can't wait, these 2 UK sites have them:

I realize cars are totally different, but I ran Hankooks on a 2003 C4S at 4 DE Porche Events, either 2 or 3 day events, ran all sessions in my group. Instructors were impressed with the stability and wear, although they squealed alot while cornering. One day it rained and they gripped beyond my comfort speed level, so guess good in rain. Cant beat the price vs Michelins.

For those interested in reading reviews of the various track options out there, I've collected about 130+ reviews and posted them here:

Default Dimensions Tires HELP

I've a 996 and putting a bodykit to transform into 997 GT3. I ordered JR30 wheels of front 20x8.5 and rear 20x11. On the tires I'm not sure if front 245/35 R20 and rear 315/30 R20 is okay? Any good advice? Please?

This should be the end product Please let me know if my dimensions will work. Thanks.

Not aware of anyone running 20" wheels on a 997 GT3, most everyone runs 18" or 19" so I'm not sure how much guidance you're going to get here on whether this will work.

Just a heads up that putting a bodykit on your 996, won't transform it into a 997GT3.
