Default Pinning Cost

What is typical coolant line pinning cost on a 997.2 once the motor is already out? Cost at an Indy Shop or man hours will work. Not dealer.

Looked at my invoice form Beasley, and it was 800 - 7 hours plus materials. The Engine was practically new <6k miles when I did it, so nothing else was needed.

Have you considered knurl & re-glue?

Once motor is fully out less than 6 hours for pin. More for weld as parts need to come off and be cleaned.

Saw the video on this process - think it might be the better way to go.

I had mine pinned in 6 hours with the motor still inside the car. Someone should be able to pin all 6 if the motor is outside of the car in 2 hours or less.

Having my coolant lines pinned right now; $1500 + tax.
Add another $300 or so for the Sharkwerks coolant stainless steel fitting.
Definitely worth it.

Is that $1500 including dropping the motor?

I have an appointment in about a month for my 28K mile '07 for welding, which requires the water manifold to come of to be sent out to a specialist, which surely takes more time to remove and re-install, includes new "consumables" such as hoses and fluids and belts, and the Sharkwerks's fitting, and I think water pump. The race shop near Charlotte quoted me $3500 done, I may add plugs and coils, and perhaps seals, and discuss with them what they find and suggest when the motor is out of the car.

Should be good to go for the next 25K miles, or so.

All the best....

I don't think you can put in the Sharkworks elbows without dropping the motor. $1500 is a good deal including motor R&R

Yes this is including dropping the motor.
10hrs re:re the motor, another 5hrs for pinning & installing Sharkwerks coolant fittings.
Total should be around $2500 incl (Canadian) taxes.

I've heard of estimates as high as $6k for welding. The shop pinning my lines has done quite a few other cars all without a single issue after pinning.

Yesterday I was quoted $4,800 for welding at a shop in Sacramento. Is that reasonable?

Kugley, I am in the Sac area as well and own a .1RS. Was the shop named Salerno Motorsports? Great guys there. If not, could you let us know the shop name?
