I was planning on waiting to pull the calipers in 2 weeks when the car goes to my body shop. After seeing them now, when installing the suspension I decided to pull them now for rebuild and powdercoat. Look at the pics and you can tell why I decided to do it right away, other than the fact that the rainbow colors are disgusting

Calipers need a full rebuild. Look at this pad wear and the overall condition of the calipers.

Here is a pic of the calipers....

Wow...how many miles were on the car? Do you think the paint somehow destroyed those piston and seals?

OP - Congrats on the car, I've been in your shoes a few times undoing someone else's "improvements"… usually a money intensive process but super rewarding in the end

Looks great so far!

Knowing the car's previous showcar history/parked status, I'm surprised the calipers had enough use on them for that to happen.

Anyways, OP are you SURE you don't want rainbow colors for your calipers? (Just kidding, just kidding!)

Lol if that's what he was told that wasn't the truth. The car was driven quite hard/like no tomorrow, by the owner.

But I'm glad to see this car being resurrected and done right. Sorry for what u have gone through but I'm sure you will be happy with your proper build when finished.

Yeah it definitely was Ferris Buellered. I think that is the mentality when a car is thrown together to show and sell after.

We ended up relocating the batter shut off. It is still under the hood. I will post pics when complete.

We modified the battery tray a bit and have a red top battery going in. I wanted the extra space to mount the shock reservoirs nicely and accessible. Still working on it but that part is almost finished. Will get more pics soon.

This car is an a abomination. This car is what I call ... good from far BUT far from good.
Calipers only half "painted" ... please what a POS.
I will state it and TOTALLY stand by it ... the prior owner IS a douchebag.

The previous owner drove it and beat on it in front of a lot of people and after meets. This wasn't just a show car/cars and coffee car.
