Find a buyer and PFS will handle it from there. Depending on where the value is you may or may not owe a differential between the value and the payoff. Any value above the payoff and a check is cut to you. Again, no different than selling a car that you carry a loan on.

You definitely would not want to pay it off before hand to get title, at least in California, since you would have to pay the sales tax in full. Since I turn my cars very quickly it saves me $5-10K in tax every time. Currently selling both my M5 and my wife's Q7 which are leased and have done it several times in the last few years.

There is definitely a lot of misinformation about leasing out there. If you keep your cars beyond three or four years it does not make sense, but anything shorter and there is no reason to buy unless it is a car in very short supply. Then you will see the manufacturers turn the numbers so that it does not make sense. Looked at a RR Sport two weeks ago and the lease numbers were ugly. 50% residual and 6% interest rate means they have no interest in leasing them right now. A few months ago they were 58% and 3%. Numbers change every month so you have to watch for the deal you want.

By the looks of his signature it looks as though the original poster decided to keep his GT3?

The past week or two I have been mulling over the idea of selling my 997.1 GT3 and getting a 2016 GTS...just to be able to drive a Porsche on a day to day basis. I DD an F150 Raptor right now and it gets old.

But after reading this thread I agree that the best advice is to keep the GT3. I would regret it.

So maybe just add a Golf R instead...

Anytime I see a post that starts with "Thinking of selling GT3 for another P-car" the answer will always be the same.....Don't do it! That's what 2 car garages are for
