Porsche 997.2 turbo vs 997 GT2 Decisions and options - buy which, why ?
FOR THE SAME MONEY does one buy the 997.2 turbo or 2008 GT2 for a street and track car. I like to hear what people living with either or both are experiencing and come to prefer. Keep in mind both cars are under 20,000kms and either can have additional mods to make it better. I am not a high horsepower guy, i think sometimes less is more on the track and road. What do you guys think ?

How is this even a question? The GT2 is the better car any way you slice it. Except in looks maybe, but that's subjective. Much better engine, much better suspension, RWD, those seats! Although in Europe I think the sport buckets are an option on the TT. The list goes on and on.
But the best thing to do is drive one of each and see which one you think is best for you.
Good problem to have!

Well we love good problems. the reason i say this is because i find on the street that 1-2 gear and boost lag a little annoyance for longer than the quick drive. i dont know how people feel about the car when things have been improved or modded.

Considering the dearth of information provided, I can only second what ilko and Ray said.
Since there is no price differential and both have similar mileage, hands down my choice is the GT car. However, be advised that I have no desire or need for a 4WD or a Turbo in my fun car. My truck has a turbo. The wife's SL has a supercharger. They both work fine for the task and driver preferences.
Putting 70K of after market parts into a vehicle has little meaning. If the changes improve the looks or drivability of the car for my personal taste, that's a different story.

4 seats would be handy, considering putting-in back seats of i have seen it done. for the PDK i thought that around city it may be better as 1-2 gear in the gt2 is a pain.
The one thing is i thought the pdk turbo engine was a lot more alive and responsive. or maybe that was my imagination ?

Amazed that you are getting similar prices for similar mileage cars - good for you. Regardless, I've owned both. The GT2 is...well...a GT2. In a class by itself and still one of the fastest and quickest production Porsche cars to date - yet still light on its feet.

Not regrets is good news.
It's the euro here and a 2008 gt2 129k vs mk2 pdk turbo below 30, 000kms 110 -140
Mk2 turbo seems more easy to drive and feels further refined.
The gt2 feels like a modded mk1 turbo on a test drive with sales guy I next to you.......

This is simple. One is a beautiful girl down the street, the other is a Supermodel. Which one do you want to spend the evening with? :-)
If you like the PDK and don't mind heavier front steering, you have but one choice. Good luck.

very fair comment my friend. And yes i did notice the mk2 turbo had heavy steering. i thought something was wrong with it due to the tech art suspension it had.
