Default Requesting GT3 RS test ride near West Palm Beach

May I go for a test ride in the passenger seat of someone's 3.8 GT3 RS near me? I'm considering buying one; did test drive yesterday, but there were a few noises that I wasn't sure if they were normal or not. In return, I offer a beverage, meal, or a ride in one of my cars. Thanks.

Sherman

Sherman,

It doesn't look like you have many takers in So Fla, I'll give you a ride if you get to the Houston area.

Have you headed over to AutoQuest in Ft. Myers? They're awesome guys and usually have 1 or 2 of them around, hell they'll probably sell you one.

Orbit Racing right near you takes care of a few RSs. Roger Hawley is the proprietor and a great guy to know. rodger@orbitracing.com
Cheers.

Thanks to all who replied, very hospitable of you. The most convenient is probably lkn4adl in Boca, so I'll contact him shortly to find a time that works for both of us. I may check in with Orbit Racing later too as possible source for service. Thanks again.

Just as a general guideline for the RS cars: the weird noises are almost certainly normal.

Rattles, shaking, lumpy idle, clicking, all part of the charm.

Let's not forget the occasional puff of blue smoke. A friend's RS was in the showroom when he picked it up. After starting the car there wasn't a live insect in the place.

Funny stuff guys! I like what I've read, heard, seen and felt behind the wheel. I also like noises and the GT3 RS I test drove was actually more civilized than I expected; I think my wife can handle driving/riding in one whereas she refuses to even ride in one of my cars. Her daily driver is a BMW 1M, but she appreciates that Porsches handle and stop better, never mind the extra power.

lkn4adl, I've sent you PM. Let's talk when you have time. Thx.

Sherman
