Default BUYER BEWARE - Cobalt Blue 997 GT3

Apparently someone just put a deposit on this so I hope they did it with full knowledge of the car's history...

I was looking at this 2007 GT3 at Napleton Porsche. I found a tiny spot of rust on the underside of the engine compartment near the right quarter panel. This led to a series of discussions which uncovered that the previous owner had a serious track accident for which I now have PDFs of the repair receipts. Approximately $50,000 in repairs, including the entire right side of the car (door, airbags, front/rear hubs, suspension) and also involved the engine (cam cover, engine mounts). If any of you know the guy that bought this, just make sure he is aware. The car is otherwise in good condition and appears to have been repaired correctly but I don't think it is an $85k car...

If it does not go thru insurance claim, CarFax stays clean. Sad but true.

It is sad and I understand that, it's just very deceptive considering the dealer seems to know about all the prior damage. Not saying that it is a bad car if repaired correctly, just definitely not an 85K car.

Seems its hard to find clean 997.1 gt3's for a "good deal" these days. Mid-70's used to be the norm and now it just seems like there are not many out there in that range that aren't beat up.

if you find a 7.1gt3 less than $80 with < 20000 miles, i am pretty certian the car has history. or the seller is a moron.

Seems to have lots of wear marks and obvious 'track' evidence... disc's, missing tow cover on front bumper on top of the cup spoiler and rear deck/spoiler etc. Doesn't look a nice one from what I can see...

That car no longer shows up on their inventory. Maybe someone at Napleton checks out Rennlist?

Typical scummy car dealer. Tries to get people interested and accidentally forgets to mention the details of the car.

Bergx7,

Can I get a copy of that PDF, they didn't reveal that info to me nor include it with all of the records. That said, I didn't pay 85k either.

Should have posted questions but I thought higher of the dealership.
