Default 997 GT3 vs 991 GT3

Is the 997 GT3 exhaust system the exact same as the 991 GT3 exhaust system?

I would not think so. The new 991 GT3 does not use the previous Mezger performance/race engine series. (Or so I think that is what I had read)

^ Makes sense, even if the layout (center muffler plus two sides) appears similar in press photos to-date.

But until folks have taken delivery and qualified tuners have had a go at the actual plumbing, we're all talking hot air here (incl. myself).

Yes, but it certainly looks the same:

Porsche is all about making money and it is not unreasonable to assume that the 997 system will bolt right up to the 991 GT3 engine. They don't change something unless they have to.

That said, we won't know for sure until these cars hit the streets.

Center muffler is the same as the one used on the 997.II. Parts-numbers are the same...

Side-Mufflers have different numbers then the ones used on the 7.GT3 but still start with the number 997! So I expect only minor changes...

Do the 991 gt3 side mufflers bolt up to the 997 ones? I was told yes and they look exactly the same but just to confirm.

From minimal information I have, the centers are the same, side are the same and headers VERY similar.
