Default 997.1 Cup Car Lip - with or without ducts?

My stock 997.1 GT3 RS lip is getting pretty chewed up. Thinking of replacing with the cup car lip (I know it is a bit lower and will scrape more).

FVD carries 2 versions - one with the ducts like the stock lip and one without (cheaper). I believe the .2 stock lip does not have the ducts?

Any difference in brake cooling with or without ducts? I know aero will be better without the ducts.

So - which to choose?

thanks

her shann

^ that. The version without starves your undercarriage brake ducts of air.

with. Think you will find cup version is more flexible and will last longer than stock one. Bonus it is cheaper.

There's a seller on Ebay that sells a polyuretane lip for $150 shipped. Form and fit are OEM. I just received one and installed last night. I like it.

I know you already commented on the lip being lower, but I got mine just the other day and it is a good 1/2"(or more) lower than the stock lip. I was going to use the cup lip full time, but after seeing it in person I have decided I will keep the stock one on for the street and swap it for the cup one when I head to the track. It doesn't require any bolts/screws so the swap only takes 5 min. Just FYI, YMMV.

2 questions:

Best place to buy the cup splitter?
How do I remove the stock one? Pull straight out? Is there any screws or anything??

I bought mine from carnewal. 125 euro plus 55 shipping but you can order 3 for the same shipping amount. Thats what i did.

My old one was difficult to remove and i think it is because it is factory painted. First you need to remove 2 screws. Pull straight out! I need to use a flat screwdriver to remove mine. The second and third tab if you start from the Wheel were very hard to pull.

The new one was piece of cake to install.

I'm looking for a spare cup lip for my GT3.1. So where is the cheapest incl. shipping for a cup lip? I checked out Suncoast (where previous owner purchased just before sale) but their basic ground UPS shipping adds $58 to ship to Idaho. And is their ducted unit actually the cup lip or OEM (they don't quote the part number ending in 92)? Cup lip is similarly priced at FVD but they don't quote shipping until you actually order(?). As another source, racinglabs.com has one at only $140 plus $ 50 shipping which seems too good to be true? And which co. ships it rolled up and therefore at less cost? Thanks!
