If any of you have the giant antenna (I don't think many GT3s were optioned with it) and think it looks a bit silly, this shorter one is a pretty good fit:

I had no idea there was an external antenna option. What purpose does it serve, just better reception?

I guess it helps with AM reception?! In North America, only 30 GT3's and 15 RS' were equipped with it.

At least it's on the roof! I think the early 997's (or just the cab's) had them on the front passenger fender behind the fuel lid.
