Default Aluminum tire cart

Getting ready for mancation II and the trek across the US back and forth for Road America, Watkins Glen, Road Atlanta, and Daytona this year. Loosing space in the trailer fast and I need to get an aluminum tire cart to carry 8 wheels and tires for the RS.

Looking for something like the race teams have and it appears featherlite provides most of them but I can not find a new one on the web, used ones are all pick up only.

Does anyone know of any good vendors to contact to buy one or have one made?

Maybe something like this

Thanks

I was at Infineon last weekend for the vintage races. These guys had a nice one on display. Call them.

i sent a message to FL via their FB page last night as well... crickets so far
there is a used FL one in Charlotte on Craigslist for $999

I am sensing a market for aluminum bolt together (easy shipping, a la Ikea) tire racks... hmmm if I owned trailex, the purported king of bolt together aluminum extrusions, I might just...

Stay away from this cart on the Proline site. I wouldn't use this cart if you gave it to me ......this is a dangerous design destined for disaster.

A properly designed tire cart with bottle provisions will have the Nitrogen bottle lying horizontally under the Race tires in a cradle that runs from the front to rear axle with the head & gauges protected ..... and if this tips, who cares !

This design is dangerous for several reasons;

1. Head & gauges are unprotected and vulnerable
2. The nitrogen bottle in this design is standing up (weight too high)
3. and combined with the narrow track and those small tires is a recipe for disaster.
4. This design has ALL of the bottle weight (and they are heavy) at the rear causing a pendulum effect in corners ..... think "Early Turbo".

If/when this scenario happens (I saw this happen at Sebring and Homestead ) it is a scary sight when the cart tips and head of the Nitro bottle hits the ground and breaks off because the bottle instantly turns into an "unguided" missile with several thousand pounds of thrust ! With so many people often wandering around the pits, It is a horrifying sight to watch !

No one BUT no one that I know in the "Pro" racing industry with any experience or common sense would use this cart ....... in this litigious (socialist) society we live in ........ it is a law suit waiting to happen !

Hope this helps.

BR Racing in Los Gatos, CA fabricated one of their own that is really nice. They might build one for you, if you ask nicely.

I am thinking of going the "custom" route anyway as they are quite simple and freight charges from fl to the PNW will be high
