Default Porsche Train July 15th

Great day running with the Porsche Train boys. Being a newbie didn't know what to expect and I was blown away with the hospitality and friendliness of the group.

What can you say when they hand you a beer, eh?

We had a perfect day, fast laps in the morning and chased each other around in the afternoon, everyone had more than enough laps.

Here's a video from the afternoon chasing NorthVan with his very quick 997.1 with lots of trick bits (but loosing the battle, he was in the low 53's maybe 52's!). My Trofeo's were smoking! Set a personal best in the morning of a 1:54.5, pretty pleased considering everything is stock except the Trofeo R's. Gonna need to mod more if I'm going to hang with this group!

Nice driving Montoya!

It was great to meet you, had a lot of fun on the track with you and PJS. Hope to see you out at the track again.

Thanks! I trust that you guys had a blast going CCW, I think I like Valkyrie hill downhill into 5 best.

Everyone back on the track yesterday or did we have some cars still "parked"?

Barber last weekend. This was the first time I have ever videoed. I have been to 5 DE's now. I think I really need to focus on relaxing, and hopefully being more consistent will come with that. It was a great weekend. A little hot but there wasn't much traffic.

Thanks Jenk - the Porsches get some special consideration from the Marshalls due to their very low oil spillage/problem causing in general. They focus on fire prevention ie nomex suits, gloves and undies, Fia helmet and harnesses, closed windows (unlike you guys).

Cheers Montoya - yes it felt like 1 more lap but the 7.2 driver is an old hand, having raced his super rare 993 gt2 (1 of 7 RHD, also Mexico blue!) for many years against the faster 996/7s and so he know how to make his (new) car wide
I'm hoping a bit more slip streaming and some traffic or late braking will help next time .... But I did miss a couple chances there! Only downside of the vid watching is how things that didn't seem possible at the time appear much more do-able with 20-20 .. A few doh! moments tho ... Next time!

Ps - you gotta give me the low down on your overlay tricks - very nice data presentation re splits etc..

Had not seen this due to Mancation.

That is good driving Lindsay. For 5th even being in the right place and right gear is all you need. Video and data will help you getting more out of your past laps!
More speed will now come by itself as you pile on events and laps. Just stay relaxed and smooth, work on keeping your eyes far up and in the mirrors.

This is the funniest part when you make big steps and find lots of time
