My first post in this topic I think.

Yesterday, Pistenclub trackday @ Nordschleife:

Enjoy

btw for the speed freaks here, I managed to get 294 km/h on the speedometer of my car on the straight (not in this vid, I didn't go flat out near the end of the straight to not get too close to the car in front of me). That is 184 mph for you Americans/Brits.

Thank you! Nice driving, seems like you kow your way around pretty well.
Cars parked against the wall, emergancy vehicles on track. The Ring is just wonderful.
Whish I was there! Are you going to Manthey day the end of the month?

No Hans device? Please buy one :-)

Starting to get there. For me the speed on the video is ok. No risk-taking, no close calls and fast enough to have fun. Ring demands a lot of respect so I just try enjoying it by focusing on the trajectories. That's already hard enough without trying to optimize braking zones and whatnot.

It was ok that day, not unlike regular TF on a sunday in July/August. Those are usually a disaster. I only saw 1 accident. All the others were technical issues. There were a lot of VLN race-cars present.

Only one big incident:

No Hans device? Please buy one :-)
Yeah I know. Helmet does not have Hans clips either. Will get one soon (as in, this year). Hardest part is finding a good helmet that:
- fits
- does not cost a fortune (it is amazing how much more expensive car helmets are compared to motorcycle helmets, and they are all white!! And I am not looking for a $50 helmet, mind you . I just don't understand the price difference. If it is safe enough for motorcycle racing it should be safe enough inside a car. )
- has a removable washable inner lining
- has HANS clips

Anyway, a bit off topic in this thread

Back on-topic: on the other ring vid with the white RS I see the driver going through Schwedenkreuz while off the accelerator and only accelerating after/on the apex. I would personally never do that with a 911. Once speed goes up when you get to know the track you will lose the rear of the car there. I've seen it happen more than once, it is a dangerous spot for a 911.

Just my 2 cents

Car helmets are nomex lined which accounts for the price difference, mostly. Some other fire proofing in re foam etc.. too I think.

Some very nice vids guys. Thanks! Now I need to update the first post, one vid per post with all the information makes the first post update redundant.

Spa Franchorchamps last week. No data but nosecam is a fun angle to see one of the worlds great circuits from.

I'm so jealous, I can't comment friendly right now...
What car?

Last time I was there in the 80's maybe early 90's a truck driver of my dads company talked my dad into racing his truck against factory Mercedes, Renault and Man teams and won the truck race.

My dad went a little pale when he drove off the track in quality to get diesel in town ;-)
