Default Frustrated with Porsche

Is Porsche so hell bent on building electric cars no one wants that they've abandoned their core customers? Been waiting for a 2010 GT3 part since June. Can't get an eta much less the actual part.

Last year my dealer was pretty vocal about them sunsetting low volume 997 parts.

looks like this is the cyl 1-3 cylinder head. Is there a reason you're buying a new one? Can't help with the lead time but it sounds like you're building the engine so was curious what is wrong with your head currently that it requires full replacement.

Time to have your shop call around and find a good take off.

This is nothing new, honestly, but I have a 52 year old porsche in my garage and it's fking amazing you can get parts. Sometimes, it takes some time...

It's been policy at Porsche for years that, for certain parts, they wait for enough orders to come in world wide to justify a production run. I had a 993 that needed a front trunk cross member due to an accident, it took 8 months for Porsche to provide the part, and I was told it was because Porsche was waiting for orders to accumulate. At least it's not NLA, I have seen that on other manufacturer's cars and sometimes with Porsche too.

Have you looked for the part used? It cannot be repaired?

Cheers,

Mike

The reality is that you, as a 997.2 GT3 owner, aren’t part of Porsche’s core customer base. Unless perhaps you’re also leasing a Macan or Cayenne.

Not easy. There are none. Last one I saw was almost a year ago. I'm looking for one myself to build a spare 4.0 race motor. I have all the parts, just need the core.
