I read that same article last night. Should be interesting. I wonder if some of the new / pre owned GT3 RS's on the dealer lots will drop in price?

As much as I'd like to believe it, I think 500hp from a 4.0 is probably a slight exaggeration....Anyone care to comment?

If Sharky can get 500bhp out of 3.9L I don't think its too far of a stretch that Porsche can do the same with 4.0L!

There are other threads on this topic. The price is likely going to be around $200k so I don't see how .2 RS residuals (or new dealer cars) will be affected. I don't think Porsche will have any trouble getting 500hp from a 4.0L version of the current engine. I thought this had already been confirmed.

I'm thinking it'll be the same GT1 engine derived from the 4.0L RSR and GT3 R engine.

BTW the GT3 R is 480 HP. I think they'll make (if they actually will build) the limited edition it'll be around that power, not 500 hp.
