Catastrophic Coolant Hose Coupling Failure Registry

You are asking for a lot! Guess you don't want it to rattle and blow smoke upon startup either! Is cracking Ti center exhausts and side mufflers OK? Or not even that?
Perfectionist you, they already gave you a fixed pressure plate and clutch. One thing at the time...

1. I'm used to the noisy "can of nickles" sound at start up !
2. I love the "rattle" from the clutch at stop lights
3. I'm on my 5th RS, '07, '07, '08, '113.8 and this 4.0 and none of mine have ever smoked at start up ! You only need to know how to shut'em down properly to avoid that problem at the next start up ....
4. I Installed a "sharky" at 171 miles so the "cracking Ti center exhaust" situation shouldn't happen since it is now bubble wrapped in a box.
So ....... if Porsche has not fixed this "Hyundai quality" hose fitting problem, then I guess I'll have to utilize the "Sharky" fix from Alex as well as install a CUPcar shift cable.
Oh well, such is life !

3. Quantity over quality ;-)
Does not bother me, but care to enlighten me on properly?
Water wetter is a safety fix down south, Sharky-like coolant hose fix at the first reason to drop engine.
Cupcar cables; Undecided, I'll drive a 3.8RS with CUP cables at 48hours to decide.
I shift her with a velvet glove but should I go for less crunchy 3-2 and 2-3 shift action but more racket in the car?
Sorry for off topic.

Zero smoke, including 20+ starts at the track.
Started it maybe 10 since.
The Baron seems to be right.
Low rpm cool down for a few minutes seems to do the trick, even coming off the track.
I will post again later.

I just had my coolant welds done, 12,000 Miles, no failure, but with my luck the last few years it would happen to me. Work done at Blitzkreig in Vancouver, not that expensive, considering I had cup car cables, solid engine mounts, cup car caliper stud kit, did a transmission oil and engine oil change as well.

I was on the receiving end of a 996 Turbo that blew a fitting on the drivers side and left a 1/4 of coolant down the straight. My car was totaled after bouncing off the wall, the turbo was able to come to a controlled stop off the track. Unsure about the damage to his car or the resolution.

The purpose here is to stop those arrogant fools from saying they've not heard of a problem with the coolant fittings -- and to lay the groundwork for a class action when they finally kill someone and try to plead ignorance.
I think it's also reasonable to contact the lucky Turbo owner and get a copy of the service order to repair the fittings failure to include with the letter to Porsche and make sure to ask them to confirm reading and investigating your service complaint.
Porsche must recall all the 911's prone to engine failure.

Real bummer to see so many of these;( Right now doing a 996gt3 and a 3.9 997gt3. Both were on their way to loosing a hose since coolant was already beginning to seep out
