I would stay with original equipment Clubsport bar. FVD stock them:

Actually I suggest either RSS 928 or 930 roll bar. Really well built.

RSS Roll bar - not a bolt-together multi-pc unit.

That CMS bar is $2500 and looks like the same design as a DAS bar.. Sounds way to steep to me.

I have a clubsport for sale fior $2600. I bought it at the beginning of the year from FVD. Currently in my 997.1 but wasn't able to get a good fit (damn sunroof). I was going to swap it out for one of the RSS bars.

I'm local to Vancouver and have ran with you a few times at Mission. It's available after Sept 23rd (or maybe Oct 10th if I do the Morrisport day). Let me know if you're interested.

If you're not interested I'll post it in the For Sale forums for any other local (BC,WA preferably) folks that might be interested.

With the possible exception of the FIA certified clubsport version, none of the above bars mentioned will be legal for solosprint at Mission under CACC rules. I just wanted to mention that in case you were entertaining the thought of timed runs at solosprint on a CACC race weekend.

They are all fine for basic track days.

Cheers,

If I was fortunate to "not" have a sunroof I would definately go the original clubsport bar that JJ has. The bonus is he is local to you so presumably he would cut you a break on the shipping........

Absolutely correct on that... They're all basically glorified harness bars

Now having said that when someone wants a real roll bar we turn to Tony @ TC design for a welded-in version:
