Track Wheels and TPMS ?
Any issue with not running TPMS sensors with aftermarket/track wheels? Will just an idiot light come on or will bells and whistles sound continuously without the sensors?

It'll beep at you on startup and periodically (every few hours). You'll get a constant "!" alarm light in the instrument cluster. There's no downside beyond that annoyance.
I have TPMS sensors in my track wheels so I don't face any problems when I'm on track, but ironically this also means that I get a TPMS fault when driving to and from the track with my rear wheels in the back of the car because the system sees six wheels instead of the expected four. I guess you just can't win.

I looked into this on my 09 C2S and found out that since you start out around 26 or so cold tire pressure with r-compund tires the TPMS will throw a fault. Cold or hot pressure will not even be close to stock so TPMS will throw a fault anyway. I did not do TPMS on my track wheels and just drive at the track with the warning light on.

Once we changed tires/wheels and started the car the display read TPS not working, or something to that effect, but within 5 minutes the display switched to TPS off. We drove for 3 25 minute sessions on Saturday with no problems or side effects.
Prior to leaving on Sunday we reinstalled the OE wheels/tires with TPMS. After starting the car display had a TPMS calibrating message. After ~1 minute the TPMS calibrating message disappeared and the display reverted to the normal time/temp.
In our experience the car's ECU recognized if the wheels contained TPMS or not and automatically responded with the appropriate setting. We experienced no adverse interventions with either set of wheels. I will consult the owner's manual to see what it has to say about this now that I'm curious.

I put them on my track wheels, nice and comforting to know you don't have a tire going flat.
If you leave on Hoosiers lets say at 26PSI you can see them kreep up. Yes it first says flat tire, but if you just ignore that, it does show the pressures, so you would know when you have a flat.

Thanks for the informed responses. Sounds like it's not an issue. I can live with a light.

I ran my BBS wheels in the RS with TPMS, and I'm running the OZ Allegeritta in the Cayman with TPMS. I like it, it lets me monitor my tire pressures on the go for each corner.
