Default * 997 GT3 REPLACEMENT discs - GiroDiscs. Comprehensive information & pictures*

****Title of post is/was 996TT - because the pictured discs are indeed that model. 996 GT2/GT3 disc same dia and hat section slightly different****

Company verbage & information:

GiroDisc is a brake technology company that is dedicated to the development and manufacturing of high quality brake components and brake systems. GiroDisc products are designed and engineered for both street and track applications with a comprehensive product line of two-piece
floating rotors that are designed to be a direct replacement for the factory rotors.

The two-piece floating rotor will improve braking performance, reduce unsprung weight and utilizes the factory calipers and e-brake.
Unlike many “big brake” packages on the market, GiroDisc rotors also retain the factory brake bias and outstanding pedal feel. High quality construction and premium grade materials provide improved wear, increased rotor life, minimized coning and greater cooling efficiency.

Note how the slotting is *properly* done with tapered ends and plenty of edge margin.

These represent good value, readily available replacement parts, and amongst the highest quality in the industry.

Got er and replied - avg. increase in longevity is 2 1/2 times - last ring change was 3x + (9 to 28, OEM to Giro) That's big.

Craig can you please provide details on the fitment for C/L applications and pad choices given the narrow annulus? Kindly PM me on pricing assuming an MY11 GT3RS. I'm interested in your full-floating setup and whatever is the lightest. Thanks!

Center locks ... 2010 GT3's use 380mm rotors.

Oh of course :-) I thought it was something deeper than that -

These feature REPLACEABLE rotor rings vs. OEM of which you toss the ENTIRE expensive thing...
They take a Pagid part number made for them, no problem. Same price too. Say au revoir to holed rotors...

2010 & 2011 same

Ok so they are made in 380mm, but could I use just a ''regular'' pad, or for example PFC pad without any modification ?

Only OEM takes the 8004 pad of the stock rotors. These take a pad that is NOT cut to fit - it is a part number for these rotors that we get through Pagid. Easy availability.

Wish Giro made these for center lock Carrera GTS....wonder if GR3 hats fit the Carrera S disc that Giro has?
