Tie rod end removal tool - toe links
I am getting ready to replace my OE toe links with adjustable toe links and locking plates. I am trying to figure out what size and type of tie rod end removal tool works best on the rear toe link. they sell them by size ranging from 15 mm to 25mm.
has anyone done this? I will post some pictures and a DIY when I get this done.

Porsche has a nice "Special Tool" to remove the ball joint -- is that what you mean? It looks like a typical "pickle fork" but it's a flat shape with a bolt through the middle to create the leverage in a more linear pulling action instead of the "hammer and wedge" approach of the pickle fork. It's still a bit dramatic when the two surfaces finally separate, but you can make it easier by first warming the wheel carrier arm with some mild torch heat.
I believe I bought one from a Mac or Snap-On truck made by the usual third party tool OEMs like Stahlwille.

This is not the actual branded item, but it's identical. Maybe KD Tools? Maybe there's something better?

Yes that looks like the tool, they have different versions on the same tool. Just wondering if someone had any experience with one style better than others. I am going make sure I get one big enough and then I will post a DIY on toe link replaceable for anyone interested.
