Default Price Increase ALREADY on GT3 Seats

So with really no availabilty yet, the price on the seat buckets by themselves did go up 3/1 (almost $1000 on this alone). The list price on the bucket with nothing else is now $3911. So yes with a full seat, trim, and brackets you are looking at $5K. Not sure what Porsche is thinking anymore...

They are thinking we are going to be shopping for some other seats! The 996 gt3 seats fit right?

10k for a pair of seats is absurd.

Porsche must have been watching the ten year old 993 sport seats going for 5k a pair and figured they could at least easily double that price for new seats.

Yes the 996 GT3 seats fit perfectly... With the leftover $$s you can get an RS rear wing, a rollbar, some Pagid pads, a LWF and maybe a new set of tires...

I think the Cobra Suzuka Carbon Fibre seat is a very nice seat. It comes in Alcantara and weights about the same as the 996 Porsche GT3 ROW seat (15 lbs). Cover it in any leather you want and you will have a very nice pair of seats for $4K (as they come) to $6K (leather covered).

Kind of hard to justify the difference for the cool Porsche seats, even if you are saving 12 lbs overall!

there are so so many seats that are way better than the factory RS seats. i am either doing 996gt3 seats or recaro spg hans, omp hans or something equivelant.

The Sparco DTM may be an alternative choice if you want to maintain the elegant look of leather and suede. Also, no logo! They are not cheap. I think about $3k each.

Recaro makes a couple nice seats including the SPA, but more track specific style seats. Not great access for your date.
