Hi,

That sticker on the back of the seats, warning not to sit back there, really bugs me. It's a gross color that is so obvious from outside the car.

Has anyone taken them off? Any thoughts or tips for removal?

I dont think we solved that with the 996 Sports seats either. I sold them and got GT3 Euro seats
But the 997 GT3 seats are like $7K each so you need to find out how to remove those stickers!

Perhaps the removal procedure is similar to removing the airbag warning sticker on the visors?
That has been discussed in several 9x6 forums in the past.

Alcohol works great. If not, dilute a bit of Acetone in water and use a Q-Tip, but, be careful with the Acetone!!

(Very funny misspelling denautred like that ... but never go to the hardware store and ask for denuded alcohol ... )

While I hesitate to recommend denatured alcohol because using a percentage diluted can make a mess because the water gels the glue, I'd really stay away from acetone -- it's vicious stuff and even a tiny amount can spread and will stain anything, carpet, leather, you name it.

There is a safer 3M adhesive remover, but I've not tried it on those stickers -- great for most other stickers though.

Yea while acetone is great for working on aricraft GOD I'd be scared to get in the car with it.

I used a portable steamer and a credit card to remove the stickers off my seat backs. Others have used heat guns and hair dryers. Try searching in the 996 GT3 forum for other ideas.

Here's two quick solutions and they work everytime...

For the record, acetone (methyl-methyl ketone) does not stain anything. It is a very active and volitile substance that will evaporate at room temp (or ignite, so watch out) without a trace.

However, because it is so active it will often solubilize many coloring agents and cause them to bleed unevenly. Therefore you get the idea that it has stained. But physically it does not itself.
