Great...Porsche is basically saying "SCREW YOU" to current RS owners whose cars have already been built. Not surprising, typical Porsche.

We have a new record for "most bitter first post."

ps. I interpret new options as "we're listening."

Impossible to understand how this company operates. Although these are nice options to correct some of the more uhh, "interesting" combos, like the Black w/ orange wheels, or silver+orange which I never could really warm up to; don't you guys find this kind of **** incredibly annoying? Rhetorical of course...

Maybe the marketing guys at PAG have been peeking at Icon's portfolio of ever changing avatars.

The bigger deal is: I had 'em make our RS with slate graphics over black. Now, anybody can get this. So much for exclusivity.

I'm a nice guy, ask M3Jones, he knows me. But yes...I am bitter, frustrated, disappointed, whatever you want to call it. Why? Because I crusaded for these options with PCNA/PAG before my car was built and was denied. I'm happy for later RS owners that Porsche is actually listening to us, but upset that at the same time, I have to retrofit these options.

How did you get Slate graphics? I was campaigning for Indian Red (996 GT3 RS color). According to the latest bulletin, graphics must still be black or orange.

Call me what you will but after reading this original post I couldn't modify my order fast enough, and now have a pro forma invoice to reflect the following additions;

CNL Side Stripes and Logo Dev Color (Black) $775
CNZ Side Mirrors in Dev Color (Black) $790
CRY 19" GT3 RS Wheels Dev Color (Black) $1,915

Although these additions came with a price, I now look forward to what is the correct presentation of a "White" RS.

PERFECT...congrats! Exactly the way I would want it if Porsche didn't approve Indian Red, which of course, they didn't. They denied the request for black rims/decals/mirrors also. Guess I'll be stuck with a plain jane white GT3 RS when it comes mid-March until I can get everything retrofitted.

As long as Porsche is letting you select any color for the wheels, mirrors, side plates, and likely the graphics based on the post above, they might as well let you pick any color for the car as well.

The Porsche car company that had those kinds of options died with Ferry Porsche on Mar. 27, 1998.

We are now into the new "Bling" option Porsche car company.

Jeff! Thanks! (I think you're the one that asked me for the Polar Silver CGT pix right?) I just had to join Rennlist and post because I know M3Jones and I was quite upset at this announcement (but happy for future RS owners who can still change their orders). Cheers! PS: I'll post pix of the RS with the CGT once it arrives.
