Ford GT trade for GT3?
Sorry folks for any redundancy. Also, I can't figure out how to link to a thread I posted over in the 996 GT2/3 forum.
Several have contacted me but I have not closed a deal yet. My FGT is unique and never dealer prepped (still has plastic and tags) though I did manage 500 miles in a couple days with it last fall
Bottom line: Fantastic car in every respect but what I need is to lower the overhead and have something that will take a serious track beating. This car needs a museum, not 400 laps at Road America!

Just thought I'd throw this out here for the collectors' consideration:
I have a new 06 Ford GT in Heritage Colors. One of 5 built with a Gurney bubble from the factory. 500 miles. All options. As new with plastic still on it.
Looking for a nice 996 GT3 and cabbage.

i just have a question.... why don't you just use the ford gt to race? the thing is faster then a gt3, it beat a 996 gt3rs around the top gear test track(not sure about other tracks). its a mid engine sport car so why not use it for what it was built and go chuck it around a race track. in my opinion no car should be garage kept. if i owned a carrera gt or a ford gt or what ever hyper car i would drive the crap out of it daily. o and worry about reliabilty or something it has the same engine they put in pickup trucks and those never break.

Well, if this is of any benefit: I traded in my Heritage GT for a GT3 and have no regrets. I loved my GT, but had issues. First off, you can't leave the car anywhere without a crowd. Secondly, service is sketchy at best, I lost sleep before my first oil change because my dealer told me it'd take him 2 hours to get the lift ready to get the car up, (what to do for a real service issue). I'd not hesitate drive my Porsche cross country, but the GT?
