Alexb76. Bosch OEM FGR5. $36.25 and free shipping on Amazon. These are for my '08 Cayman. Not sure about your 997.

I did this due to age as well not miles(26k). It was somewhat of a FUN DYI. Certainly tight to get cylinders 1 and 4. It's a good way to get to know your 911 up close and personal. Swapped my mufflers too during this.

Diy on mine. Only cost is plugs. $42 for 6. Alex the plugs are not even platinum but your standard copper core plugs. I would think platinum is unnecessary if replacement is every 4 years. I totally agree with macster's reason on time based replacement of the plugs. Diy is very easy as long as you have the right tools. Muffler has to come out though.

DIY'ed mine for the cost of the plugs. Muffler removal is pretty straightforward. Five plugs are also. One plug is a knuckle busting PITA if you dont research the DIY threads and start with the right tools. Inspect your coils while you're at it. Look for leaks while you're resting under there.

Good luck.

standard issue should be fine like you stated.

if you end up changing the coil packs while ur at it - get the latest ones by BERU. they have larger plastic base at the back compared to the old plugs that should be less prone to cracking.
