The far easiest solution is a checkbook--and a good balance!
Aside from that, a reasonable collection of metric sockets, etc. Allens are less used today so you'll need a variety of Torx, both male and female variety.
The curious thing about German cars is that they generally use these sizes: 10, 11, 13, 15, 1, 19mm. Japanese cars tend to use the even sizes. Strange observation.

Thin box wrenches in mm sizes. A pair of torque wrenches. 2-50 ft/lbs (measure in inch pounds) and a bigger 20-150ft/lbs. I use those regularly.
