Default Porsche Parade 2017

Anyone planning to attend? It's in my hometown of Spokane WA this year which is shocking to say the least. As I understand it PCA has had their eye on Spokane for some time. They took a hard look 10-12 years back but decided we weren't quite ready from an infrastructure standpoint. No doubt the endless winding and uncrowded mountain roads offering incredible driving opportunities were a big draw.

I'll be involved in chaperoning one of the more scenic driving events which culminates at Schweitzer Mt. ski village outside of Sandpoint Idaho before returning to Spokane. We'll be taking the ski lift the top for lunch at the new upper lodge which was just built. Should be an amazing day and a great week of Porsche heaven. Hope to see some of you here...

There has been some talk about a few of us from the SF Bay Area heading up for Parade but no definitive plans as of yet...

I have a hard time finding any information on the actual events happening at the parade. The one the OP mentioned sounds great.

Is there a parade site out there describing the events, date & time, how to sign up, etc?

The only blurbs that I've located are as follows:

https://www.pca.org/event/2016-11-15...july-9-15-2017

http://www.conventioncalendar.com/Sp...onvention-7145

I'm sure that more will be revealed soon...

I'm thinking about going with a friend. We'll see if he has his 914-6 Ready.
I used to ski at Schweitzer Basin back in the late 70's. Back then there was nobody there and it was cheap too!

PCA should have something out soon detailing all the events. I'm told signing up early is a good idea as events fill up fast. We're getting a bit more inside scoop being in the host city and I have a good friend who runs the Spokane convention and visitors bureau.

I'll post any updates I get to this thread.

Great question. You must have visited downtown Spokane recently. City planning say's yes all major projects in the downtown area will be wrapped up by then. Fingers crossed that happens.

Thank you. I'll be coming over from Bellevue, WA, but plan to take my time making several stops on the way to and back from the parade (never drove on the North Cascades Highway, SR-20, plan to take that one coming back from the parade).

Anytime I have been to Spokane, there has been massive construction. I figured it never ended.

Planning on making the drive from Edmonds.
I heard from our local PCA chapter that registration opens at the beginning of April.

As the event gets closer, it would be great to hear more about this event. I might consider the drive over from Bellevue.

Update:
Construction in the DT River Front Park area is ongoing. Doubtful the majority will be remotely close to completion. Should be interesting considering our roads have taken a severe beating this winter. Crews are stretched trying to prioritize the worst areas.

The driving events filled in a matter of minutes when the reg site opened. I was traveling in BC at the time and missed the opportunity to sign up for the drive I was supposed to lead going to Schweitzer Mt Ski lodge. Would have been logical to block out spots for volunteers but... Oh well.

Hope to see some of you here.
