Default 2009 997 C2S - Droning undiagnosed

I am posting for a friend with a 2009 997 C2S, not sure of exact miles but under 50k. MT and car is stock all around with no mods.
A long time Porche guy and takes great care of his Porches/Cars. I bought my C4S from him with 60k miles and it was like a new car.

He has experienced droning noise for some time, tried to ignore it but its gotten a bit worse. Quick lookover buy 2 Indy Shops and Tire place, with no resolution. Did swap out rear tires (MPSs) since they are wearing with minor improvement.

Any ideas appreciated.

All tires are installed properly? As you/he likely knows, PSS are asymmetric tires with true "outside" and "inside."

Edit: Not sure if you mean Pilot Super Sports or (more likely) Pilot Sport 2. Both asymmetric, though, I believe.

Is it louder when cornering? mine developed a droning issue and it turned out being a wheel bearing.

Remove wife from passenger seat? try that.

Droning? At what speed? All gears? In neutral? rolling in neutral?

Does the sound go away when you turn left or right? I just had a wheel bearing replaced and that was the easiest way to point myself in the right direction.

2009 S2's have a documented issue with the fuel pump. Is it possible that it is the fuel pump?

Thanks for the responses. He says it drones all the time and doesnt notice it more upon turning.
The bearing isssue or fuel pump sound legit issues to me, and I know this guy in the past bought his Michelin Pilots at Costco because of the priicing (dont beat me up I just thought I would share that because I know this guy does it), so maybe they misintalled them.
Thanks again I will pass it along since he is not on RL but has owned Porches for 30 years, so I thought I might be able to help him.

Hello again and thanks again. I just passed along all the comments to my friend.

I am a huge fan of the 997 series as you can see by my 7.1 GT3, so I wish you all the best and enjoyment with your 997s or whatever else you own or decide to buy in the future.

I had a droning sound from the rear of my 2012 997.2. Had the tires rebalanced with Road Force balancing. No more droning.

If it is that loud it is probably a wheel bearing sending a strong message to the Operator
