Check Engine Light On After Hill Start Stall

Check Engine Light On After Hill Start Stall
Looking for anyone with a similar experience or technical knowledge of the 996 ECU as far as Check Engine light faults.
Was out this weekend and stalled my manual 6 speed after flubbing a hill hold. Less than 5 minutes later I got a Check Engine light. Seems too much of a coincidence to not be related to the stall.
Anyone have any insight? Trying to avoid an unnecessarily-expensive general diag.
Thanks!

Have you connected a code reader yet to get the actual error codes?

How much gas was in the tank?
Curious, but you probably caused some misfires as you lugged the engine (and probably hard enough since it was a hill to trigger the engine light). With normal driving, the condition might clear.
How many miles on car?
How much gas did you have?
When was last tune-up / plug change?
Condition of coil packs?
Me? I'd top it off with the best gas I can get, make sure the cap is tight. Then I'd drive it and cycle it cold/hot.... cold/hot and see if it goes off. 95% of all CEL conditions in all my cars resolve themselves like that.

The tank was full, premium (97), it's a 2003 with 20K miles, last service was done pre-purchase by Porsche of Plano. Condition of coil packs? No idea. ;-)
It's running normally with no stalling or other strangeness, so I'll drive it and see if it clears itself, thanks!

So, since the tank was nearly full, I simply removed the gas cap, using my little finger, I opened the vent flap, waited about 60 seconds, put the gas cap back on, then took it for a drive. The Check Engine light went out within a few miles. Whew!
