Default Winter tires

Is there really only one tire available in either 18" or 19" for a 2011 997.2 C2?

I have 19" on there now and figured getting a different set and slapping some winter tires on for next year would be a good idea. I can get 18" wheels and tires but my options seem very very very limited.

Am I missing something here?

Are there alternatives?

Some have played with some alternate sizing. I stuck with factory.

My experience was that 18" winter rubber was going to be a challenge to find so I settled on 19". I imagined trying to find a replacement tire (due to unrepairable damage) and 19" availability won out. I'll drive in the winter, but I choose to not drive in the snow (I don't care for what salt does to aluminum) as I have other vehicles for that. So the advantage of 18" over 19" in snow is a mute point for me.

Here is a post regarding my quest.

You will get a better traction with 18" and narrower tires:
18x8": 225-235/40-18 Michelin Alpine
18x10": 255-265/40-18 Michelin Alpine
I like OEM BBS Carrera III. Light, looks good, and a good value especially in black plasti dip for winter.
