Detail on the stock frunk support for 997.1;
OEM P/N is 99751155101. With this I found Stabilis/Boge/Sach's match which is PN SG406031.
Comparing specs for SG406031 and 4031(4031 spec in parenthesis);
Extended length: 9.45"(9.95)
Compressed: 6.69"(6.81)
Force: 85lbs.(88)
Ball socket: 3/8" or 10 mm(same)

So compared to 4031, its very close match. The factory unit is slightly smaller extended and compressed. The compressed length would be my only concern(1/8" longer) but I bet the ball sockets have some play.

I just ordered a set. At half the price of OEM units and with Lifetime warranty, what a deal! Thanks Pete!

For those looking at this repair: I just bought the OEM equivalent Stabilus/Sachs part number SG406031 from RockAuto for $15/ea...and you can find 5% discount codes all day long.

Rock Auto also has the strongarm 4031 for $5/each, tough to beat that price.

When I saw the subject line "Frunk Struts" - I thought for sure this thread was going to be about Rick James and Street Songs.

Did mine this weekend after almost losing my nose when a wind gust slammed the lid shut. Getting those little clips off can be challenging when uninstalling, try not to chip your paint with a sharp tool.
You don't need to mess with the clips when installing, just pop them on.

i bought these:

Just beware -- the lid comes up surprisingly fast with new struts compared to worn out struts. It almost hit me in the face the first 1-2 times.

Probably not cost effective for many but this guy will service struts including making them a little stronger. I have used him on a couple of occasions as l am local and got great service. He is located in British Columbia Canada so not sure if that complicates things for some of you.

If you have any special request he’s always knowledgeable and prompt to respond. I have no affiliation, just a happy customer.

Good info here! Thanks. Just replaced mine with the Strongarm 4031s. Work just fine as far as I can ascertain.
