Default Fister/Gundo Exhaust Owners in Westchester NY - Video update!

Hey Guys,

I'm tempted to dive into some mods even though I told myself I wouldn't change anything on the car for the first year or two. Here I am barely a month into owning her and i'm playing with the idea of getting the gundo muffler mod . I'm tempted to pick up a pair that have already been "gundo'd" but i'm really interested in FD Motorsports Fister exhaust..I only hear good things about Darien's work and have seen tons of youtube videos of before and afters...but I'd really like to hear it in person if possible. Something tells me a video clip doesn't do its justice. Is there anyone out there in Westchester County willing to meet up for a few minutes and show me your tubes? haha. I'm in Armonk NY

thanks
Jason

Send your mufflers to FD Motorsports. Highly recommended. You won't regret it. I'm in Florida and prefer to send my mufflers to FD to avoid the aggregation of a shop down here getting it wrong. Shipping is not much and the welds are professional grade in my opinion.

Yea that's the route i'm leaning towards..you think its a better idea than doing the exchange? I just don't want to be without mufflers for a few weeks but I guess you never know what you're getting in return. Whichever way I go, I was curious to hear them in person beforehand, just so I really get an idea of how it sounds when idle, etc.

Had them on my 996 and thought they were amazing. Better than any aftermarket exhaust. Can't wait to hear them on my 997.

I just had my mufflers done with a Gundo mod from Hanksville Hotrods... see this thread:

https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...gundo-mod.html

I also live in Westchester, I am due to get my mufflers back on Monday/Tuesday...

if you want to meet up, we could compare and contrast this mod vs. stock. Perhaps even post up a video for others to see/hear

my cell #is 1-646-526-1006, gimme a text

I went with this mod as opposed to the Fister D mod because this is similar to what Porsche does with the PSE setup by utilizing the third port on the muffler.

Sounds like a plan to me, are they being installed in the midnight blue on the left? Would be pretty awesome to have them side by side, one with gundo one with out.

Yes, the blue one... the silver one is a 996 with Fabspeed mufflers... however I sold that car.

I can't tell if you have a .1 or a .2 - sound will be different. I have x-pipe and Fister. Live in South Salem and work in White Plains. PM me if you want to meet up.

I'd be happy to meet up with you guys as well. 997.1 c2 with Fister. Depeding on .1 or .2, stock vs. gundo vs. fister would be nice comparisons.

Both 82_930 and I have 06 997.1s , that would be awesome to compare all 4:

Stock - 997.1
Hanksville Hotrod 3 pipe - 997.1
Fister - 997.1
Fister w/ X Pipe - 997.2

Anyone else out there with possibly a Gundo done by a different shop? Anyone willing to go Muffler free?..joking

I have one more to post, but for some reason I can't... do we have a limit on how many pics we could put up?

Any way of increasing that limit?

How much are you guys paying to get this done. I was qouted $600, which includes removing the mufflers from the car, doing the hack, and reinstalling mufflers. Is this a reasonable price?

JuanK20, if you don't mind... which shop? I am trying to find someone in tristate area who has some experience doing the modification.
