Porsche ODB2 Code P1486 & TSB TIS-5-08
My car threw the CEL this week for a few days then went away with no intervention. It was code P1486. This code is attached to TIS-5-08 having to do with the Tank leak detector, DMTL needs replaced.
Does anyone have experience with this? What's a DMTL.?

DMTL is the Diagnostic Module - Tank Leakage and I believe the TSB is referencing a fault with this unit. P1486 is an emissions issue, so maybe covered under the emissions warranty.
Check the usual things like the gas cap. Sudden swings in temp have been known to throw EVAP system codes also.

Hopefully, it was just a odd set of circumstances that caused it to happen. If it comes back then it may require more attention, but I wouldn't worry about it if it doesn't.

I got this code again, 2.5 months later. It was extremely hot today so I'm hoping its some environmental thing, as some sources point to. I reset it. Much more of this and I'll have to hit the Indy shop ... or the dealer.

P1486 -Gas Cap procedure ?????
.... This code came up and appears to be a gas cap issue at low level fuel -- I can continue to twist the cap and it just keeps clicking = what is the proper procedure should it stop turning after say 3, 4 etc. clicks ? - new one (for $18.53 inc. shipping on the way) ...
Thanks for any input
