Default 997.2 PDK Multi Steering Wheel with TECHART Paddles into 997.1 Tiptronic Multi

Finally installed a 997.2 PDK multifunction wheel with TECHART paddle shifters into my 997.1 Tiptronic with Multifunction. Everything works perfectly. Feels like I bought I brand new car, driving is much improved by replacing those comical tiptronic buttons with F1 style paddle shifters from TECHART.

Install went smooth as I had RUSNAK in Pasadena do everything. Took about 2 hours. It was expensive but well worth the money. I highly suggest this upgrade to anyone looking to enhance their driving experience.

Thanks to SUNCOAST (Ric) for providing me with everything I needed.

I bet it was expensive. I have multi funtion pdk wheel, and I have been contemplating this change (for the paddle benefit). I have yet to convince myself that the cost=benefit, yet.

I'm going to guess it was in the 5-7 grand area. Ive looked into doing this as well but decided id rather put that money towards a newer 911. Looks great though!

I just did this with my Panamera, cost under 2k with steering wheel included. I kept my original steering wheel and bought a thicker wheel from Ivan at DCT

Looks like he did an oem wheel. Just the wheel and airbag already puts the cost over 2k. Then add Techart shifter paddles which im sure are very expensive plus install.

My steering wheel is OEM, this is not an expensive mod. You will find the paddles at sharkwerks. I think Ivan is going to post photos of my wheel tomorrow.

I have not done this yet, but my Sharkwerks quotation was $995 for the Techart conversion, and two hours labor to install. Total cost should be about $1,500. Sharkwerks said that it should take two weeks after your order for them to receive the paddle-shifters.

Hey guys sorry for the late reply. Here are the cost details:

OEM Multi-function Sport Wheel from Ebay - $700
OEM Sport Airbag from Suncoast - $900
TechArt Paddles - $700
Control Module switch - $110
Programming + Install from RUSNAK - $250

Pretty expensive, but nothing beats the new car feeling

I installed the same steering wheel in my 2005 over the weekend. Took it to the local dealer today (Porsche Austin) to get it coded, but they couldn't figure how to get it to work. The tech told me to get more info and bring it back in. Does anyone have any specifics on how it should be coded? Neither the paddle shifters nor the multifunction controls are working at this point.

Speed_force_C4S, is this RUSNAK Pasadena? If so, who is your service advisor. I am trying to get the labor quote from them. TKS.
