Changed manual transmission lube. Used the Mobile 1 PTX. Marked improvement in shifting and the ubiquitous first gear issue. I don't know what all the stink is about the smell. (Yes, pun intended.) Smells no better or worse than any other lube, in my nose's opinion.

Painted my brakes.. pretty time consuming task with removing everything and baking the paint.

I have no brakes now too . I thought I could just refill afterwards but the peddle just goes to the floor and wont hold pressure. I guess a full brake bleed is in order.

Finally had a day to install a stock TT wing that I bought from Halo777 (thanks man!). Tomorrow is wiring day but the color match is perfect and once I got the old wing off, it was as simple as 4 bolts. Easy peasy.

Transforms the whole car.

Finally installed the intake from my Carrera on the 4S and took the time to clean up the engine a bit. Also put some conditioner on the seats and then went for a ride.

If enough fluid leaked out to empty the reservoir, you're going to need a Durametric to bleed the abs pumps from the activations menu, and you're going to need to bleed the clutch slave too (if a 997.1 - .2s self-bleed). If it didn't run dry, then a normal bleed should get you back in business. Start with the wheel furthest from the reservoir and work your way closer, so Pass Rear then Driver Rear, then Pass Front, then Driver Front.

If you run into trouble open up another thread in the 997 forum and we can help you from there.

Thanks.. I went through 250-300 ml I would guess.

Is that enough to need to bleed the abs pumps and clutch slave?

When you refilled the reservoir, was the bottom out or was there still some fluid left in it up the sides a bit? I don't know the capacity of the reservoir but it might be in the specs somewhere. Try a normal bleed to start and if the pedal isn't good when you're done, you'll have your answer. I believe if you're doing the Durametric activations, the sequence may be different - you follow the sequence in the software when doing that.

Great look and ride height! You should consider adding the 991 sport lip to complete it!

KKSwow, I like a lot of tail lights, the problem is choosing.

Wiring day turned out to be a big let down. My buddy at the Dealership hooked up the computer to tell the car it has a fixed wing. Then, I plugged in the third brake light wire from the old retractable spoiler into the TT brake light. No dash warnings, no buying harnesses and no splicing.

Edit....the Check raised brake light message is back and neither 3rd brake lights work........the plot thickens. Guess I might have to buy the wiring harness after all.

Had time to bleed the brakes with some Motul RBF 600. I have brakes again... whoa.

I dogged the need for a Durametric... for now.

I use the same fluid myself - good choice. My bleeding rig isn't as cool though.
