Will a Cayenne space saver wheel fit as a spare on a 997?
This is probably a dump question, but will a cayenne space saver spare fit on a 997 as a spare tire?

I wanted a spare as well, got a space saver from a 2000 or 2001 C4S. Bought from LA Breakers, $350 + ship. Included full tool kit. I inflated the tire and tried it on front and back and it fit perfectly. I don't think I lowered the car to the ground but I think it had plenty of clearance.
FYI I read that if you lose a rear tire you should put the front tire on the rear and put the spare on the front until you fix/replace the flat.
Given that I now have a ten-year-old spare I wouldn't drive it too far. I did speak to a tire 'expert' who said that if you keep the tire out of UV rays it will stay usable for a much longer time than the factory recommends. I sealed it in a 50-gal bag, also had a zippered tote bag made for it.
There's a lot on this topic in the archives maybe someone answered to the Cayman.

A few years back I picked up a bolt and punctured one of the rear tires in my 987. Porsche roadside assist gave me a Cayenne spare to get me to a dealership for a new tire. Because the outside diameter of the spare was different from the full-size tire on the other side of the car, I had a christmas tree of lights on my dash, no PSM/ABS/etc and had to keep my speed below 50 mph to reduce the stress on the rear differential. It got me there, but definitely wasn't a solution if I was stranded far from a tire shop.
