Anyone in Baltimore/DC area who knows someone reliable for the Gundo Hack?

How hard is the removal and replacement of this with jack and stands and standard tools. What kind of time frame am I looking at?
Thanks

If you have never done it before I would estimate 30 minutes per side out than another 30 per side back.
The night before hit the bolts with WD-40.
I used all hand tools.

I just did the 2" Gundo hack this weekend in Dallas on my brand new to me 997.1 C2S. Sounds fantastic! A close friend owns L&L Autolink in Dallas and we did it in his shop. They did a similar hack for me on my M3 exhaust that was great and have since done a ton of them. Mine was the first Porsche they had done and we used this forum for guidance. No problems at all. Took us about 30 minutes to get the cans off, about 2 hours to do the hack with prep/cleanup and another 30 mins to install. What an incredible return on the time. Also, Mike, the owner of L&L, said he would be happy to do more if anyone in Dallas would like it done. You can reach him at Mike@llautolink.com. Tell him Troy sent you for the "Bro" deal.

Interesting thread.
But, has anyone considered using a CURVED piece of pipe? While the straight section welded at a 90-degrees into the in & out pipes may make nice "music," I doubt it aids the efficiency of the exhaust system.
While there isn't a lot of room between the 2 pipes, I'm sure that a mandrel-bent curved section would be a lot better.
I installed a valved pair of mufflers on the Maserati to duplicate what the factory had done on later models. Awesome sound. There are a number of sources of exhaust valves and I would really like to try doing that.
Darrin, if you're reading this are you interested in trying it?
Anyone have a spare pair of 993 mufflers they want to sell???

My dear wife always says that the hearing deficit I have in my right ear is because of my years of racing. Funny thing is all of my race cars had exhausts on the left side, including the RHD one. What noise was on my right? I refuse to answer...

Talked to Darin & he doesn't feel there is enough potential benefit to a curved pipe to make the added difficulty worthwhile. I'm tempted to go the Stage I route. Video samples of Stage II seem louder than my passengers would like.
