Cool POST PICTURES OF YOUR 997

Gents,

I looked through the search engines but I cant believe that theres no thread for pictures of member's 997s. There are a couple of color exclusive picture threads but not one for everyone here in the 997 Owner's Forum.

So I'll start one....

997 S
-Aerokit (factory installed)
-Sport Shifter
-Ext Clr Gauges
-Bose HESP (subwoofer module coming out for weight reduction project)
-Ext Clr Belts

Very nice Mike - I really like those yellow dials!

Perhaps the black 997 is using the yellow lens protection from this vendor: http://www.lamin-x.com/ Several guys over on the GT3 boards have used that product on their track cars... I think it looks really good in all of those colors... (I'm not affiliated of course.)

Please keep the 997s coming! I need to convince my wife to let me buy one as a DD AND put 30K miles per year on it (the mitigating factor)!

Blake,

Are you planning to replace your GT3 with a 997? I actually spoke to a well known figure in the PCA that pointed out the the 996 GT3 is probably the last real capable race ready car without much electronic interventions and takes a talented driver to really explore its track potentials.

Ken - I love the 4S Targa. I had the pleasure to rent an '08 in Germany last month for a fun-run on the Autobahn. With the 996-on, I have always been a Coupe/Cab kind of guy... Now, the Targa is my first choice, hands down... Beautiful pictures - enjoy it!

Mike - Actually, I am looking to add a 997 as the *3rd* Porsche to the garage. The 996 GT3 was my dream Porsche, and has become my dedicated track car. It is a blast to drive, and certainly gives you a work out on the track. It is a little rough as a DD, but is such a rewarding Porsche with great feedback and plenty of power. I love the 997 because of its refinement and speed. I am envious of all of you 997 owners...

Could it be because you didn't do a good job searching?

The search engine is rather primitive here. You first need to be searching only in the 997 Forum, obviously, by using the "Advanced Search" - such as it is - under the "Search This Forum" dropdown on the top right, right next to "Forum Tools." Then pick only a single keyword as your search criteria and do a "Search Titles Only" and not a 'search entire posts' type of search. The first keyword I used was "pic" and after several threads were pulled in, it was an easy matter to scan down the list and find the relevant ones I was able to find. I then did another search using the keyword "photo" and pulled in some more. Just use the singular form for the keyword - it will pull in plurals as well. Doesn't usually work the other way around. And there you have it. Took only a few minutes to do.

Oh, and we can never have enough pic threads. So post away!

Default Here's mine

BEFORE I clay barred, triple hand polished with Menzerna, and double coated with Rejex; so it's much shinier now. Need to take newer pics. Apologize for the low-quality of these.

God I miss Maryland (grew up there). You can spot a picture of MD from a mile away.
