Default Bug and Tree Sap Remover

I guess it's bugs and tree sap time !! Do any of you expert detailers have a favourate product for bug removal and tree sap removal? My normal washing will not remove the bad bugs and I have one drop of clear tree sap that won't budge.

Thanks

Odorless Mineral Spirits. Used by museum conservators to clean artwork of various materials.

Bugs B Gone. The stuff works so good it's kinda spooky.

Do a Google on it. They have a website and it's available at Napa Auto.

For expert advice, on the other hand, use Porsche Tequipment Insect Remover:

Xenit by Stoners is also very good (citrus based aerosol cleaner). Works well on rubber marks at the track.

You can also use P21S Total Auto Wash, 100% (non dilluted), which is who supplies it to PAG as Tequipment Insect Remover.

As expected, these will strip wax, so a quick detail applied over the cleaned area is required.

Default Having a bad day !

I just got my first speeding ticket in my 997!!!! $175 for doing 50 in a 30. S**T.

What makes it worse is that I was singled out from a line of traffic ...so it must be the car. The cop said it must be hard to control the speed on such a fast car. I said I was doing the same speed as everyone else, so why pull me over....no reply.

The weird thing was that he said I could plead not-guilty and go to court and he would help me get off with a lower speed. What kind of bizarre logic is that? It kinda make me think he didn't have solid evidence.

What should I do? Suck it up and pay the fine, then move on. Or contest it ? (I was speeding, along with every other car on the road).

Interesting approach, as I have some of this stuff already. Does it not remove the clearcoat ? If not, I'm going to give it a try on the tree sap.

Thanks

I use Rejex. It provides a very slick finish. Bugs wash off with the water hose.

I've used it for years to clean bugs and sap, never had a problem with it on car finishes. We're talking 100 percent mineral spirits, not what's loosely called "paint thinner."

The RejeX stuff is really good too, makes these bug and tar cleaners almost unnecessary

Isopropyl alcohol. It's the active incrediate in almost every (if not all) bug & tar removers. Very safe for paint, dries almost instantly, cost is about $.50 at a drug store.

Yep, works well, but thre goes any sealant or wax. If you have layers, you'll have to do that area again. If wax, just re-wax as well. If you used a glaze with the wax, better get that ready as well as it too will be gone.

For sap, I clay. For bugs, Zaino lets most wash off. Whatever MAY be left, I just remove with a QD.

Rubbing alcohol. Never would have guessed. I have used mineral spirits before and it works really well. I even spray mineral spirits on road grime and it takes it off the undercarriage really well, but watch where you spray it because it can cause damage. I spray it on the metal parts and they look brand spankin' new when I'm done with them. I think I'll get the porsche spray, especially if it works well on 3m bra. Thanks-
