Does Porsche have a factory color thats darker and rich like BMW's Imola?
Almost a wine color?
Porsche red's seem so intense and gaudy. So 80's.... So slantnose, so Miami Vice testerossa
Isnt there a more classy red in Porsche's history?
Here is BMW Imola....
This to me is a perfect interior red.
Also, notice how BMW breaks up the red with the black console, dash, carpet, door uppers and steering wheel...this makes the seats and door panels really stick out and gives you the breathtaking interior that red should provide.
Even Porsches two-tone still has far too much red (carpets, vents etc) so its just too much. The seats have nothing to contrast against and are just lost in a sea of red. (or any other color the interior happens to be for that matter)
If Porsche used more contrast in its interiors, they would look far far better.

I had an M3 with Imola Red interior (and Steel Grey exterior...beautiful combo). It is indeed a nice red, and as you mentioned it goes well with the black interior parts. However, I don't think that pic is representative; it's a very difficult color to capture digitally.

As kauai_driver said, you could do "leather to color sample" and then select the deviating carpet color option. With a certain amount of diligence, research, perseverance and money, you should be able to get exactly the interior combination you desire.

Porsche has made a chestnut brown interior in the past...it's dark red and close to what you're looking for, but still not a classic red like Imola

I have a concept that I think this thread may find interesting. I have often thought that a 997 turbo with the Bugatti color scheme (black on burgundy) and black chrome in all the cutouts in the car's body mouldings would look outstanding. Of course (IMO) the interior should be a suede black with burgundy insets with deviated stitching and some aluminum accents...just a thought.
I have yet to price it out.

Well said...huge lesson learned.....
the moral of the story is...
RED WORKS PERFECTLY WHEN ITS CONFINED TO THE SEATS AND DOOR PANELS ONLY AND SET AGAINST A BLACK BACKDROP.
Vents, consoles, carpet color, shiftboots, underdashes, sunvisors etc SHOULD NOT BE RED.
This is what turns the vision tacky.
And please...most impotantly....steering wheel in black... thank you very much.
Tow-tone from Porsche still has the seat color carpet, console and underdash....this detracts from the seats standing out...somewhat like an artist that starts using a red canvas, how stunning would the red rose be?
Can you custom specify an full leather, all black interior with BMW Imola sample to match red seats and red middle door panels to emulate the BMW interior? how would this be ordered? Should cost any more than two tone right to go back to black on certain parts ie console, carpet....

bad photoshop of what could be for porsche using BMW styling cues
After and before....
Im thinking of building my dream porsche in a month or two...
White C4S Cab with Black full leather with BMW Imola red sampled seats and door insets, and get this...
white seatbacks, white gauges and white console to match exterior!
.....One can only imagine this car....
One of a kind and close to one of the most beautiful porsches on the planet.
