Default Carrera S emblem color

Gary R. Porshce Carrera S emblem in his guards red apeasr to be gold which looks very nice. I thought all emblems are silver.
-Did he change it himself or it came that way?
-What is the safest way to remove the old one withouthout damaging the paint?
-Where is a good place to get the gold emblem. Thanks.

Oh no!! Hopefully we won't see Porsche offering a "Gold Package" a la Cadillac in the early 90's!

One word: "VINYL"

I can see it now - a pearlescent white S with a beige/mocha vinyl roof and some tasteful whitewall tires. Then all you need is the full gold interior trim package and the special order full Corinthian leather interior and you've got it all.

We have factory logos/emblems that we can color match for you. Just say the magic word.

Hmmm, Looks like the two folks with smart reply dont even own any porsche. Not to worry, there is always a tomorrow.

Eric , I will be in touch. Porsche should make emblem color an option just like you are able to order painted crest in gold color. I will definitly remove the silver and install the gold.

don't quote me on that price

but i think its somewhere in that range

you porsche dealer should be able to help you, and your car (march build i see) should still be able to be changed.

i dont know if you can specify gold, usually the colour choices are of exterior porsche colours

ive never heard of paint to sample on specific items (from porsche ordering at least).

my suggestion, just order from eric, it won't be expensive, the old logo flosses right off with no marks.

You are right Tom. I will support Eric and get it from him and it will probably be much much less than getting it from Porsche.

Use of 3m adhesive removal for residual adhesive left on paint cleans up the surface well. I ordered mine without emblem.

Yeah, we come up with great ideas, Porsche steals them and doubles or triples the price! What can you do.

But we have MOST factory painted parts options at around HALF the list price. Pretty simple. Just ask.

Why would you think that?

Anyway, didn't mean to offend--maybe you don't remember the days when such gold packages were very popular. My neighbor, a GM exec, once gave me a Cadillac to demo for a week in the early 90's. It had a dealer installed "gold package" , which was very popular on Cadillacs then. Gold emblems, wheels, etc. The problem was that much of the chrome trim still remained; made the car look very disjointed, in my opinion. As I recall, the dealer charged something like $2000 at the time.

My some people are sensitive!

Most recent Porsche sold. A 997S on order, and a hunt for a low mileage 993TT clearly puts me in silver medal position behind our esteemed gold medalist Mr Silverrules. Congratulations on your new car btw!
