Default Anyone using a QuickJack (5000)?

Hey guys,

I think i found the answer to all the small/medium maintenance items for both my 996 and my 350Z. The QJ 5000lb version looks to fit the bill for weight and out of the way storage.

Anyone use this on their 996s? I'm worried about getting crushed to death, but I have some emergency cinder blocks i'll slide under the tires when working under the car.

looks like you lift the 996 off the rails like most cars, don't see much of a problem there.

Look in the garage forums on here good information. I personally am going with the atlas midrise scissor lift.

I have one. Bought it on Black Friday last year I believe for $125 off. I posted on 6 speed about it . It works really well and has paid for itself with the services I have done using it. I did have one issue where it was going into bypass while trying to lift the car. Called tech support and they directed me on how to resolve it. My car sets on it all winter without issue. I just bought some hockey picks to add to the block that were provided.

I had a long thread on the QJ. Bottom line, they changed up the 5000 to fit under more cars (like my 993). I find the product very stable and don't hesitate to get under it. I recommend the product and QJ customer service. let me know if i can answer any questions. Good luck.

Looked at it but didn't suit the bill, max jack, share with a friend due to portability and low garage ceilings but allows for engine drops! Done 4 this year. I waited way too long, I could no longer crawl around on the concrete.

While we are on the subject of portable lifts. Has anyone used this:

http://ezcarlift.com/index.html

And why is it so damn expensive when it doesn't even use hydraulics?

Wow that's more than a maxjax! I don't see the value in it! Looks like glorified truck jack-stands.

I just measured and called them. I was shocked to see the wheelbase difference in my 350Z and the 996. needless to say, the 72.5 inch frame looks too close for the 996. I talked to QJ and they said a 70 inch version is coming in the next month.

to be clear, that's the modified 70 inch version lifting your 996?
