Default Clutch Deal FYI

Hi All- I ordered the LUK Repset clutch kit for a GT2 on rock auto and I was surprised to find sachs parts when I opened the box. The parts all say Sachs and made in Germany so I'm assuming it's the same parts that would come in the Sachs kit for 40% of the costs. Even included the alignment tool and grease. Total cost was $415 shipped with one of their 10% coupons.

This is a GT2 Kit with the unsprung disk, here's a link. I should've bought all of the stock and resold for $500.

By that kit plus the 764 pressure plate on parts geek for $700 and you have a "2.5" kit for $1100 and a pressure plate left over.

Is the GT2 clutch disk, pressure plate, and throw out bearing a plug and play replacement for a stock X50 turbo?

Do you have to upgrade any of the clutch hydraulic components?

it's a "stock" clutch. only replace slave/accumulator as "needed".

You bought a brand new clutch, rock auto sold the OP a customer return from another retailer...

It was not a customer return. It was vac sealed and in a brand new opened box. It's just sold a "LUK" and not Sachs. I got the hint from the NA 996 guys as they caught onto this year's ago.

Just wondering why RA is substituting a Sacs kit for a Luk?

I called Luk and registered the waranty. Apparently they don't manufacturer clutches. Luk repackages them. Has nothing to do with RA except they have the lowest price on this kit. It's also available from Amazon, partsgeek, etc but about $50 more. You'd get the same Sachs parts in a LUK box from those retailers as well.

I'm a bit of a newbie. I see that the LUK clutch kit is only under 2005 911 3.6L on Rock Auto's website. I have a 2001 turbo, will this kit work with the 2001 911 turbo?
